All about the Pambadum Shola National Park – Trek.

Pambadum Shola National Park is known for its population of Gaurs (Indian Bison) and is the best area to find the highly endangered Nilgiri Marten. The trek becomes a wonderful experience as it is fully through the rich and dense evergreen Shola Forests. This gives you a chance to spot various endemic birds like Nilgiri flycatcher, Black and orange flycatcher, Nilgiri wood pigeon etc. and also the Indian Giant Squirrel.  Hence, it becomes a wonderful experience to see the flora and fauna of the area, that is highly protected and one of its kind.

  1. Day1 Program
    • Drive of 26 kilometres from Munnar towards Top Station through some of the main sightseeing spots of Munnar like Madupatty Dam, Echo-Point, Kundala Dam etc. (45 minutes to 01 hour drive to the starting point).
    • We start the trek from Pambadum Shola National Park – Check post.
    • The whole trek is through the Shola Forests and we cover a circuit through the forest to the ending point.
    • Trek finishes at (near) the Check post or Nature Education Centre and a drive back to Munnar
